WSDOT has corrected some of the worst spots – and we thank it for that – areas still remain where the rumble strips should not have been installed and are still in need of removal under WSDOT’s own standards. We still recommend that cyclists ride with caution and avoid riding over the SRS’s.
Here are photos that PTBA took on 09.21.08 on Highway 101. Most of them were taken between MP 267 on the east end and 272 or Palo Alto Road on the west, both eastbound and westbound. As of 09.29.08 it sounds like WSDOT is aware there were errors and will work to correct them. Please let us know if you see any repairs being made and note the mile post marker.
So is this the standard? No.
